Novak Djokovic is a Serbian tennis player who is currently ranked World No. 1 by the ATP (August 26, 2013). He has won six Grand Slam singles titles, including four Australian Open titles, the 2011 Wimbledon title, and the 2011 US Open title. Djokovic was born in May 22, 1987 in Belgrade, Serbia and began playing tennis at the age of four. He was sent to the Pilic Academy in Germany when he was thirteen years old and began his international career in 2001.
Junior Tennis careerEdit
Djokovic reached a junior world ranking of No. 24 in February 2004 after he went 40-11 in singles matches and 23-6 in doubles matches. He reached the semifinals of the 2004 Boys' Australian Open, the third round of the 2003 Boys' French Open, and the first round of the 2003 Boys' US Open (all singles tournaments).
2011 Junior Davis CupEdit
Novak Djokovic was a member of the Yugoslavia national team in the 2011 Junior Davis Cup, which was a tournament for young tennis players under fourteen years old. Djokovic reached the finals in this tournament but he lost in a singles match.
